We've used this boarding facility for 4 years. They are always helpful in scheduling a stay when we need it, even when last minute. We toured their facilities and everything looks clean and well maintained. Our dog must enjoy it since he happily runs to them when we arrive.

Smith Farms is wonderful. Our dog Zoey has some anxiety issues, but she is very comfortable and happy at Smith Farms. She loves the group play with other dogs and always comes home tired and happy. Not only do they offer boarding with group play, but they also offer doggie daycare. It is a great and affordable service when we need to be away from the house for most of the day. I highly recommend Smith Farms.

I love this place and so does my puppy. He came there shy and not really having been socialized before and now when we pull up, he jumps out and doesn’t even look back at me lol. The staff is very helpful and always answers any questions I may have. They have definitely made me feel comfortable about leaving my baby in their care.

Our pup sisters seem to really be enjoying their daycare experience. The staff has consistently presented themselves as thoughtful and caring. We feel very good about leaving them in their capable hands. Thanks so much for the peace of mind and confidence we have with your team.

I love Smith Farms Boarding Kennel. When I take my dog there, whether it’s for daycare or boarding, I know that he will be watched over and taken care of. All of the employees are extremely nice and he gets very excited at seeing them. So glad I found them.

I’m a little disappointed. I use this place due to the reviews and the last time my dogs were there they were sick, diarrhea and even paid for a bath and the services was never provided to both dogs. We had to take them to their groomer so extra money had to be spent unnecessarily. I tried calling, left messages and have not received a response in regards to this matter. Customer service could be a little better and a response would have been great!

Very happy and confident with Smith Farms. I have 2 large Rottweilers so I have trouble trusting some kennels of there ability to handle them, but not with Smith. Will definitely go back.

We are so grateful for Andy and the team at Smith Farms. Our dog Cannoli did a board and train program for three weeks. She was left in great hands and is now so well behaved. We loved the facility at SFBK because of the enormous campus and the special care they take of their dogs.

I sent our 14 month old mixed breed dog Mollie (American Staffordshire Terrier, Chow Chow, and a dozen other breeds) to Smith Farms for a three week training class. She came home the same happy, exuberant puppy as when she left, but calmer. She no longer jumps on us or visitors (or at least, not as much), and she responds to basic commands: sit, down, stay, come, heel. At least while on a leash - which we were told to expect.
I'm very impressed with the work Andy did with her in so short a time, and would recommend their program to anyone.
If I have any complaint, it's the lack of communication. I only got updates on her progress when I requested them. I know they've got a lot of dogs in their care, but I would have appreciated a call once a week or so with a "this is how she's doing" message.
The program isn't cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Very welcoming place. Definitely the vacation spot I want my pup to be in while I am out of town. They are very courteous and even went out of their way to refund me on a bath they had given because it did not meet their own standards 🙌🏽 I mean come on, where else are you going to get this great service?!

Trying to find the words to share just how impressed I was with my German Shepherd’s training and marked behavioral improvement. Andy (her trainer) worked magic not only on her, but showed me as her opener what I need to to. He’s done in 3 weeks what I couldn’t do in a year, and has give me the tools/knowledge to maintain and continue building my dog’s abilities. Can’t speak highly enough about Andy’a extraordinary work with my dog, the gracious staff that dealt with my “helicopter mom” moments, and just the overall care they gave my furbaby.
If you’re thinking about taking your dog to training with Smith Farms, just do it!

WOW- INCREDIBLTY CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF - A PLACE I WOULD WANT TO STAY AT. From Drop off to pick up- we were greeted with kindness! The dogs have ample room to run and play. The "dens" aka kennels are clean. Just a great place for a dog to be a dog!

I 100% recommend Smith Farms Boarding.
My GSD has been going to their facility for months and often times when I pick him up, he never wants to leave. He is always so excited to go and he loves everyone there. Smith Farms has helped him to come out his shell and been a great aid in getting him socialized with other dogs. I also love the amount of space they have for the dogs to roam free and have play time. They also separate them based on size and temperament. Absolute all star place!
I also recommend them for training as well. I plan to use their board and train program in the future but started at with private sessions so I could have some things to work on in the meantime. Man! Their trainers are fantastic. And I think the most important thing to note is that it's not just training for your dog but it's also training for you as an owner. I had to make sure I was paying attention and following along so I can take this notes and techniques home. But what a difference I noted within 15 minutes into one session. It really helped me reshape how I went about training with my puppy and has been so beneficial.
Absolutely can't recommend Smith Farms enough!

I've boarded and trained my Very Good Boy at Smith Farms and will definitely continue to do so. My dog was a stray who had an unfortunate start in life and was not very trusting of people. Andy, the trainer, spent weeks working with him on socialization as well as obedience and I am very pleased. I definitely give their entire operation five stars and two thumbs up. Veteran owned and operated.
Great facility, friendly staff. They will continue to get my business next time My Sweet Boy needs to be boarded for a couple days.

We rescued Drake, a full-blooded Husky with no prior experience with this breed. He's sweet and loving, yet has that Husky stubborn streak. Our vet recommended Smith Farms for training. The first time we met Andy, we knew he has a way with animals that puts them at ease and he was the one we would trust to train Drake (and us). Three weeks with Andy and Drake now minds, calmly greets people and animals and is a pleasure to walk. Smith Farms is a wonderful facility with beautiful grounds and clean kennels. Their staff is very friendly and takes great care of the animals as if they were their own. We will definitely use them for boarding and highly recommend them for training!

Excellent, excellent, excellent from start to finish! My puppy Bella, was uncontrollable, she's a German Shorthaired Pointer (Bird dog) she was a puppy being a puppy. She was always jumping up on us, she almost knocked us over. We are following our training and her training and everything is wonderful, we have built up to a stay position of 10 minutes. Andy is GREAT, he went so far as to bring her home and go over Bella's training with us. He is the BEST and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Smith Farms Board and Train Program. We did the 3 week program and WORTH every penny. Thanks Andy, Bella is doing great and my Dad works with her twice a day!

Great place. Very nice staff, big property for pups to play. My yard is a bit too small for my bloodhound, so I enjoy bringing her here for some exercise and running room. My dog is a rescue and was undersocialized as a pup, and is a bit shy of people. The staff here do a very good job of interacting with her despite her shyness, and she is becoming more and more confident as I've been bringing her out there. We'll be a regular!

By far one of the cleanest kennels ever!!! My experience was warm-welcoming from the time I stepped in the door... Believe me just 2 days with their kennel technician Najir, and your doggy-dog is going to be in a better shape than before you dropped them off. 🥰. I couldn’t have gone to a better place !

Our first experience boarding our dog Paco for the day was excellent. We returned to a very happy and excited pup who promptly laid across the back seat to snooze on the ride home, which NEVER happens. He was very happy around all the staff and almost dragged me back inside the fence as he was apparently not done having a good time. If he is happy, I'll take his word for it every time.

My Great Pyrenees started with Darrell and the Smith Farms Kennel when she was a puppy. Every experience has been excellent. Harriet received obedience training during an extended stay when we were out of town. The trainer used techniques specifically called for by her breed and disposition. Each stay at Smith Farms offers the friendly, safe environment we want for our dog. I highly recommend a visit where you will find a clean, well thought out space and activities to keep your pup happy while you are away.

Recently I had to leave town and needed to board my dog in the Atlanta area. Despite numerous kennels being closer to me, I chose Smith farms which is a 45min drive from my home. As a person that has experienced many different kennels, I am happy to say this business deserves a 5 star rating. If you are in the Atlanta area and are looking for a great boarding situation for your furry friend, this is the place. Check them out!

We just got Hendrix the Flat coat goldendoodle back from the 3 week training program. Hendrix went to Smith Farms at 8 months old and as hyper as he could be. He didn’t know the difference between when it was ok to play and jump and when he should be calm. After two weeks I went to train with Andy and Hendrix and I was SHOCKED at how obedient and calm he was. Flash forward to today- one week later and he is amazing. Andy brought Hendrix all the way home to Woodstock and spent ample time with my family and I in our environment teaching us the commands and gestures to continue keeping Hendrix “in line” at home. I can confidently say that Hendrix has received the best training and has already turned into an awesome dog after 3 short weeks. This is by far the best decision we have made for our family. We will continue to work with him on his drills that Andy taught us all and I can’t wait to see where Hendrix will be in a year.
I did A LOT of research on training programs and trust me when I say that if you’re hesitant or iffy about choosing this program- GO FOR IT. you will NOT be disappointed.
Thank you to Andy and the team for EVERYTHING. we will definitely see you soon for some meet ups and boarding in the future!
Cheers from Woodstock!

I watched staff members from Smith Farm interact with dogs a few times at Leonora Church Dog Park and was very impressed with how patient they were with the dogs. So, I went over to talk to one of the staff members who turned out to be the owner. He invited me to come and take a tour of his facility.
I showed up at Smith Farm unannounced and took a tour with a young lady named Amanda. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The kennel is very secure with a small dog and big dog area. There are also several gates that a “run away” dog would have to get through to escape the facility. There was no urine, poop or dog smell detected, the entire place was very clean. I arrived during the small dog play time and was very impressed with the care and attention that was being given to the small dogs.
I boarded my dog, Squirt, with them for three days. Squirt usually does not eat much when I board him and has always been a bit weird acting, clingy every time I bring him home from any kennel. That was NOT the case with his stay at Smith Farm! He actually ate all of his food, all of his treats and most importantly he acted totally normal for him when we arrived home. Even my family commented on how he was not clingy and was his “normal” self.
When I picked him up one of the workers told me that the owner had actually taken Squirt on one of his walks. I do not know any owner who does that.
I also received an email from the owner thanking me for trusting them with Squirt’s care, a little about his stay and about how much Squirt enjoyed his walks.
I would give Smith Farm 100 stars if it was possible. I have been telling everyone at the dog parks about Smith Farm , along with any dog owners that I speak with. I am NOT easily impressed and am extremely picky about who I allow to interact with Squirt . I absolutely LOVE Smith Farm and Squirt will not be staying with anyone else!

Our GSD is an only dog. She enjoys the day care activity at Smith Farms and we've noticed she is less reactive to other dogs when we take her to the park. Her exposure to other Smith Farm dogs has been good for us all! In addition, the caring staff is top notch. She looks forward to her time there. Most days she arrives home ready for a nap.

We absolutely LOVE our Smith Farms Boarding Kennels family. I started with taking my then new puppy in July 2018, and as a brand new fur baby mom I was super nervous on leaving him with anyone, especially with people I didn't know so I set an appointment to meet the new owners at that time Darrell and Kristin, who instantly gave me a feeling that this was the right place! Darrell gave me a tour of the facility and I was pleasantly surprised how clean it was! That was a big plus for my OCD! The entire staff was professional and friendly.
The Farm as I call it, is caring, loving, and knowledgeable of what our needs are as pet owners on and off site. They're our family. My BIG boy's name is Otis Henry who's well known and loved by everyone there, he gets excited as soon as we hit the graveled path because he knows the fun is about to begin! Why go anywhere else when the Farm has everything you need and more... hands on training, walks, year round activities, cuddle time, grooming, all the pictures and videos you could ask for, and most importantly plenty of love and patience. I refer everyone I know who has a dog and they've come to love it too! Trust me once you go, you'll never look anywhere else 💯! Thank you Smith Farms Boarding Kennels for everything! You ROCK!!

This is a nice kennel located in a quiet area and farm like area. My thoughts were that this place would be a good place for long term boarding with the mindset that my dog would be able to run in a well spaced area, large lawn. As it turns out, the dogs can't run in the entire 15 acers but are rather confined to a fenced area. Besides that, good place!

Thanks Smith Farms Boarding Kennels For making our dog Rex in new dog,
Rex would only listen when he wanted to.
Within 3 weeks training he learned several commands, Now Rex is able to walk next to me with no distractions and "sit and stay"
On yesterday I took him next door to see his 2 buddies Rosie and Scruffy (2 dogs). I decided to try him on sit and state command and Rex did not move! Even around the other dogs. I could not believe my eyes. This morning for the 1st time he got out and ran off. At 1st I paniced but then I thought about what Darryl(his trainer) said to me . So I commonly called Rex come, and he came and set in front of me. The 7 months we had Rex that never happened. So we are looking forward to working with Rex and all of his new commands he has learned. Once again, thanks Smith Farms Boarding Kennels. Strong work! From the Dean family 🐕

I sent my dog Mable (1.5 year old hound mix) to Smith Farm's 4 week behavior modification board and train program. For the past year, Mable has struggled with high anxiety, severe leash reactivity (jumping, lunging, and aggression towards other dogs walking past) and resource guarding issues that eventually escalated to her attacking my other 10 year old dog in the house several times. I was referred to Smith Farms from a couple friends and I am so pleased with the training program. We are out of state (Tennessee) and Andy was very flexible and worked with us to schedule our on-site training lessons in her last week. Andy was very knowledgeable on dog psychology/training and very patient with us to make sure we were comfortable with all the skills + techniques needed to help Mable succeed at home. They also boarded my older dog for the final week so they could work Mable around him and understand their relationship. After her training, Mable is drastically calmer, obedient, heels on leash with no reaction to other dogs, non-reactive to my other dog, and able to practice impulse control around food and distractions. Andy and Darrell taught me the reasons why she was reacting poorly before and what I can do moving forward to keep her balanced, calm and unaffected by external factors. If you are struggling with any of these issues, I highly recommend reaching out to Smith Farms today!

REF: DOG TRAINING
If I could give this place 1,000 stars, I would!! Darrell (the owner) is an excellent dog trainer, and 100% knows what he's talking about!
I've been looking for dog trainers for over a year, but a lot of Atlanta dog trainers use e-collars--even for basic training of non-aggressive dogs--which I do not like.
Luckily for me, during one of my many trips to Lenora Park, I saw Darrell training a dog. At first, I thought it was his dog because the dog was extremely attentive...and then I saw him give the dog to the owner "for practice"; and the dog wasn't as attentive. After a few words to help the owner realize what she was doing wrong, the dog was attentive and the owner had a huge smile on her face. This was all in a span of 5 minutes so it was amazing to watch!
The following week, I saw Darrell training two more dogs and the same thing happened... To me, it was like magic so I flagged him down to get more information / get his business card.
When I got home, I went to his website and thought his training prices were pretty high, so I didn't immediately reach out. Fast forward two months, my YouTube training videos weren't working out so well (haha 🙂 ) so I organized a group training session with Darrell and we definitely learned a lot. Like they say, "You get what you pay for!!"
Side-note: there was a slight miscommunication with scheduling but Darrell was more than gracious to make it up to us. He offered us a free, 1-hour training session so I was very impressed! But it also made me wonder why a few low ratings complained about Smith Farms' customer service?? Granted, it was only two reviews, so I'll just assume those reviewers had unrealistic demands.
Lastly, I will definitely refer more friends to Darrell / Smith Farms dog training, and if I ever need to board my dog, I will definitely try their boarding. I'm also going to try them for grooming, too!

We were a little skeptical about the transition with the new owners who took over several years ago, but after a brief tour and warm inviting converstaion we felt really comfortable that our dog Shadow would be left in caring hands, There is no other Kennel that I have EVER left any of our dogs with that reaches the professionalism, and caring nature of Darrell and his wife (Smith Farms). Their Kennel is clean, well maintained, and the staff is very professional. During a trip out of town for the XMAS holiday we left our dog in the only hands we thought were worthy after our VET deemed it suitable for us to travel. The one place we felt comfortable with was SMITH FARMS.KENNEL Unfortunately it was during this time that our beloved Shadow took a turn for the worst. While thousands of miles away Darrell and his wife showed our beloved Shadow exemplary care that most seniors would die for in today's nursing home. They comforted him in a way that a mother would comfort a sick child, and even kept in constant contact with our Vet concerning our dog's condition. Our Shadow did not make it, but the care and concern showed by Smith Farms will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you Smith Farms for your dedication, and professionalism during our bereavement time. We love for the love you showed our Shadow, which gave us comfort thousands of miles away.

We Love Smith Farms Boarding Kennels! Ruby starts jumping up and down in the car as soon as we pull into the driveway, by the time we reach the office she is trying to get out the window. Leaving your fur baby is tough, but when you know she is happy and that she is receiving excellent care, it allows you to enjoy yourself on vacation. Darrell and the whole staff are always kind and professional. We never worry about the quality of care Ruby is receiving we know its top notch!

We have 2 high-energy lab mixes that are 10 months apart. While we had no problems with pups before, I failed at training these two properly and it was getting impossible to have people or other animals visit as my two were just too much of a welcoming committee . We did a lot of research on professional help; visited a couple other places but when we came to Smith Farms I knew almost immediately we found a solution. The place is absolutely immaculate; the trainers were both kind and very knowledgeable. The value we received is amazing. My dogs are back with me after 3 weeks at the farm and they are transformed! They were patient in training us and are on call if we need any specific guidance.
With training there are monthly "graduate" gatherings in different parks where you can bring your dog for free and benefit from additional training and socialization We will also use them for boarding if we ever get past COVID and begin to travel again. Plenty of play time a huge facility and - again VERY clean. One of my dogs needed medication for a skin allergy and they were happy to handle the meds while they were there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We recently chose Smith Farms for their 3 week board and train program for our 9 month old rescue dogs, Rose & Rigby. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but completely WORTH IT, for several reasons....We are a busy family with two middle-schoolers, and did not have the ability for consistent training that we know is needed (my husband and I have trained previous dogs in group classes that met once per week, and then kept up with training on our own...this was when kids were small and not involved in a ton of activities!)
The entire team at Smith Farms are clearly dog lovers. I felt they took the time to get to know our dogs and their (very different!) personalities and motivations. The transformation of our dogs is remarkable...they are still the same sweet dogs, but now much better behaved. Our main 'ask' was that they walk better on a leash, so that our kids could confidently control them on walks in the neighborhood. Darrell and Andy (trainers) spent 2-3 hours with our whole family on 2 separate occasions to ensure we were all confident with the commands to reinforce what the dogs had learned during their training. During this training, Darrell (the owner) noticed that Rigby (more ornery one!) was pushing the boundaries a bit, especially with our kids. He offered to keep Rigby for a few more days to ensure commands were reinforced...this was unexpected and appreciated.
Yes, we missed them like crazy...3 weeks is a long time! But the staff posted videos and pictures on their FB page, which was fun for all of us to see their progress. Overall, I highly recommend Smith Farms! We have already made a boarding reservation there for an upcoming trip.

This is a great place to board your dog(s)! Our 1 dog wiggles and whines as soon as she sees a suitcase come out... she is ready to go to the "farm". Love how they know our dogs by name... remember them from one visit to the next, and come by on their day off just to say goodbye to our pups! Clean kennels, lots of big open fenced places for pups to run... and a doggie pool in the summer! It's a drive for us to take them to Smith Farms but well worth it!

Initially I brought my puppy here for daycare, then boarding while out of town. Daryl noticed some behavioral issues with Boomer my blue heeler. Truthfully I was caucus and thought they were trying to push their board and train program on me. A couple more times there and I was informed that Boomer had bitten someone and was acting aggressive. Having a close by kennel is important so I agreed to a month long training.
Huge difference in Boomers behavior. He no longer thinks he is in charge and obeys all the commands. I have had to keep up with him afterwards, so that he doesn't revert. Daryl has been very helpful to us, can't say enough about the place. Feel free to use me as a reference if needed.

I took my year-old miniature schnauzer here for training. My dog was very anxious around new people, especially children, and this translated into aggression. When she bit my 15 month old grand daughter, I knew I had to do something. It has only been two weeks, and I CANNOT BELIEVE the transformation. I left her a precious little monster, and now she is a precious, well-behaved, pet! I haven't had her around the babies yet, but I will update my post when her training is complete. I am SO pleased with my investment!

I have a difficult to handle Rottweiler. She is untrusting of strangers and gets snappy if anyone makes her nervous. She has no problems boarding at Smith Farms. They know how to handle and more importantly how not to handle a dog like her. Without them we would have no options for our dogs other than to take them everywhere we went.
